IOM SOLUTIONS

A key factor in achieving successful surgical outcomes is Intra-Operative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IOM). IOM involves real-time monitoring of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves during surgeries that pose risks to these structures. Its purpose is to supply surgeons with up-to-the-second information about the patient’s nervous system, ensuring the safest route to the procedure’s planned objective. Surgeons depend on IOM’s immediate feedback to make the best decisions for the patient’s health during surgery.

The IOM solutions team has collaborated with Dr. Bolognese for over a decade, completing numerous successful procedures. Throughout these years, we have employed state-of-the-art techniques and advanced the condylar screw placement method to enhance the safety of Dr. Bolognese’s cervical fusion surgeries. Our joint paper, “Electromyographic Assessment of Condylar Screw Placement During Occipito-Cervical Fusion,” published in the Journal of Neurosurgery in 2022, received numerous positive reviews and has significant practical implications.
